We founded Wissota Candles with one goal in mind: providing high-quality, carefully developed products, made for everyone. Our passion for excellence has driven us from the beginning and continues to propel us going forward. We know that every item counts and strive to make your entire shopping experience as rewarding as possible.
When creating this business, I wanted candles that were going to be better for me, my family, and my pets. Most candles are highly toxic and you don’t even know it. Each candle is made with 100% soy wax and high-quality fragrance. Each bottle is made out of recycled beer, wine and liquor bottles. We chose that for my jars in hopes to eliminate waste and reuse something that just gets tossed out anyways.

The name, "Wissota Candles," just made sense when naming the business. I grew up on Lake Wissota in Chippewa Falls, WI and wanted something to represent my hometown, so I can always be connected to it no matter where life takes me.

There will be a local pickup option available if you are in the Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire, WI area. In that case, cash would be accepted.

All pricing is based off of size, shape, and rarity of the bottle. Any questions please feel free to ask questions.
PROPER CANDLE CARE
The first burn of your candle is the most important. Candles have a good memory, so you want to make sure that the first burn is done correctly. Make sure that your candle can burn long enough for the top layer of wax to be fully melted. If this is not done right away, you could experience issues with wax sticking to the sides of the jar and not burning cleanly down.

Each candle has a trimmed wick when you receive your candle. Before each burn make sure you are trimming your wick just a little bit. This can be done with a wick trimmer, your finger nail or nail clippers. The importance of that includes the following: your candle will last longer, the flame will be nice and controlled, your wick won't curl, and it will be a safer environment when lighting. This excludes the first burn, as the wick has already been trimmed for that burn.
